There's been some talk about the anti-flash movement (can I call it a movement?) and it's evil twin Blur. If you're turning off your flash, you're becoming very familiar with Blur. Yes, of course, I deal with it too. Sometimes it bugs, but for the most part I've come to terms with it. Yet again, another 'learn to embrace the photo adversity' pep-talk from Tracey (no eye-rolling please).
Seriously though, I am a HUGE fan of movement in images. HUGE. And I can argue to the death when I think an image is good, despite the nay-sayers and skeptics, and those that long for a perfectly focused photo. Don't even try to fight me on it (some people have and they always lose, at least in my mind). However, blur isn't always what we're after in our family photos, I know that, so let's take these next few days to talk about the mysterious movement factor, why it happens, how to appreciate it , AND control it when we can.
And here's another thing I'd like to consider- getting YOU ALL involved a little more here. Meaning, maybe we can get some kind of fun photo sharing thing working here to compliment this here photo-blog-thingy. How fun would that be?? I'm going to play around with this Typepad photo album that I guess I can use (?) and see if I can't figure something out. Maybe for homework (God, it's fun assigning homework) you can find an image of yours that's blurry that you feel doesn't work and then one that you think does work (blur and all) and I'll see what I can do get them from you, to post them and then discuss. Oh what fun!
Disclaimer: I have no idea how long it will take me to figure this photo-share thing out so hang tough. I love the idea but I do have my technical limitations you know?

Hey, Tracey, why don't we start a flickr group? I know folks would need to sign up for it, but they have limited free accounts and you can send pics from flickr on to your blog!
