Here's the summer scoop, from now until the end of the month, we are going to be holding a little contest around here. It's going to be the best of our summer pictures 2006 and it will be called, "Picture This Summer - A Photo Contest" and there are going to be winners. There are 4 categories and thus, 4 winners. And there will be prizes. Although, I'll be honest, I don't have those figured out yet. Maybe at this point I should just call them "tokens" of honor. I wouldn't want anyone to be disappointed. Regardless, it will be a little more fun than a water bottle. I swear.
So, let me give you the run down. Here are the "Picture This Summer" categories that you can submit your entries under.
1. Summer Toes
2. Togetherness
3. Location, location, location
4. Anything Summer (this is a Wild Card)
I've posted all the links at our Try To Picture This group at Flickr and/or you can get to each group using the links above. I can't believe I'm even saying this but, yes, I created NEW groups at Flickr to accommodate the contest themes in the most orderly fashion I could come up with. Holy Crow, I hope this crazy idea doesn't backfire. I hope you'll participate, even if it mean a few extra steps for you. If nothing else it's going to get my resistant bootie up to Flickr speed. Oh goodie, just what I've always wanted. I'll be glad later, right?
Here are the official guidelines-
Post your entries, within the pool at the appropriate Flickr Group no later than THURSDAY, AUGUST 24th (Midnight PT). Winners will be announced and their images will be featured here at Picture This the week of August 28th.
Any questions or comments? If not then...get ready, get set, GO! Waaaaaaaait! I swear if in the heat of the contest moment you stop commenting here I will so not host anymore contests. How's that for a threat? OH, and one more thing, INVITE YOUR FRIENDS!!! Send them here first (linking to this post we be fantastic) and then they can click on over to Flickr and submit photos. Deal? OK, now go.
OK, I put a few pictures in the contest. If I get more good ones I'll add them, too...

I added my very best trip photo to the 'location' category. I may add more once I get them sorted. We took 300+ photos over 10 days!!!

YAY!!! Whoo Hoo, I love photo contests!! I like to take my time & look at each photo submitted, getting different ideas about photography. I tried for hours today to log in to Flickr and it won't let me. It says that I had a password before and I need to answer a secret question. I tried to answer it, but it is always wrong. I tried setting up a new account, everything, nothing worked. I even created a new email account and it still didn't work. If I ever get in there and submit some pics I will blog about your contest and link to you. Any advice?

okay so it's good to see i'm not the only flickr idiot in the bunch... i really, really want to enter your contest but i can't figure it out! i opened a flickr account and uploaded some photos but how do i get them to your contest!!!!????
