The Summer Verdict

OK, that settles it, relaxing, sharing and contests it is!!! Hot doggie, I'm excited. But first I'll say that I can't believe some of you are staring school already. So I'm going to be living it up Hawaii style and you're going to be getting into the daily grind of school? That feels so unfair. Seriously, I will be thinking of you. Seriously. Especially the whole PreK or Kindergarten thing. That's a biggie. My best mom wishes are with you. Those bittersweet milestones permeate motherhood and they are always happy and sad together. Big Sigh.

Back to our agenda, or lack thereof. How about this? We throw a couple of fun topics out there and then we'll post them up on Flickr. Course what pisses me off the most is that we can't create groups of pictures within our group, we've gone over this, so it makes it kind of tough to separate different themes in our pool. Here I go griping about Flickr again. Dang. Sorry. There was some cool thing I saw demonstrated at the conference called photo loop. Ever heard of it?? It looked pretty cool but I'm not sure it would work for our cause either. ANY SUGGESTIONS for a better way to post all of our pictures? Someone mentioned something about photobucket. Anyone gone there?

While we mull this over, let me tell you about 3 categories I want to throw out there for our contest, just so you can start brainstorming. I would imagine there will be a winner in each category. That'd be cool, right? Here's what I was thinking:

1. Summer Toes

2. Togetherness

3. Location, location, location (Hawaii! I win. Oh sorry, just kidding)

And as far as interpretation goes, it's all up to you. I want to see what you guys come up with to fit in the themes. I'd love to see your most creative shots. You don't have to go out of your way to use the stuff we've already discussed but it might get you bonus points! Hee hee. And remember, it's all about SUMMER FUN so keep that in mind as you're diggin' through your stuff or shooting new stuff!

I'll let you know if I can think of anything else to do beside the Flickr Pool. Which by the way, I am so impressed with everything you are contributing! It's awesome!! I love it. Alright, so, as far as the contests submissions go, please stand by.

I’m loving the categories! I just got a new camera this weekend and I am very eager to give it a whirl!

I just checked out photobucket, it doesn’t seem too different from flickr. I guess it just really depends on which one you like!

I truly appreciate your empathy for those of us sending our kids to preK, but I would really be impressed if you did have us in your thoughts sitting on a beach in Hawaii! I don't think I could be that focused - LOL! I hope you have a great time and I look forward to the fun summer themes!
