Everyone's excited! YAY!! SO, the Picture This Summer Photo Contest has begun and there is no lookin' back ladies. Obviously, with my coming tropical vacation and the fact that school isn't back in session for a few weeks for us, I'm still all jacked up on savoring summer. However, I have come to realize that many of you have already sent your angels back to school and I won't go on and on but there is something so wrong with that. Regardless, there's nothing I can do about it. So, I'm reading all these heartbreaking posts about the first day of kindergarten stuff and it's making me teary already! I've got almost a month still before I send my youngest to 5 day a week preschool and I'm starting to get all basket-casey. Whatever.
And now to the point of my "totally ahead of the game" post. I just want all of you to keep your cameras poised and ready because THOSE pictures, those wonderful first day of school pictures will be the theme for our NEXT CONTEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Look at me now, one minute I'm threatening you and the next I'm taunting you with another contest. I just wanted to give you fair warning. Keep it in mind, that's all I'm saying.
But for now, either dig through or shoot more summer stuff. Because at Picture This, summer is here to stay (at least until I get back from Hawaii).

I am all excited about first day of preschool pictures! My four year old is so excited!
I know you live in CA, as do my nieces, and they don't start 'til Sept. But my guess is that most moms whose children already started means that they live in states that have adopted the year-round schedule, like my lovely state of GA. Its a good deal though. Instead of just a Christmas break and a Spring break, we also get a fall break, full week for Thanksgiving, and a winter break. It gives us the chance to do more off-season vacations. We are visiting the in-laws in Napa, CA during her fall break.

My little one doesn't have her first day of school until Sept. so I am not quite ready to talk/think about it yet. She's starting Pre-K and I am also starting to get a little basket-casey over it! She on the other hand is ecstatic and can’t stop talking/thinking about it! First day of school pictures ought to be very emotional.

Hi there,
I THINK I just figured out the Flickr thing...and I managed to upload some pix to the GENERAL group thing, but can't figure out how to get them into the right sub group (ie...toes, location, etc). I know that you are new to Flickr too but maybe someone else can help me?
We just brought home a new baby (she was an adoption suprise) and I haven't slept in weeks. I did the best I could w/ the FAQ....but I may never figure it out if left to my own devices.......
THANK YOU...I have some great ones to add....

Was I the only parent who left the first day of preschool going, "Yahoooooo!" and pumping my fist in the air? Having a few hours break from Nathan - though I love him dearly - was a blessing at the time. I was exhausted both mentally and physically and it helped to get away to the library and grocery shop without him.
I'm feeling a little bit different with Lucie though, probably because I'm at her and Nathan's school all the time since I'm on the board of directors and am always meeting with someone or some committee there. The school has become our home away from home and some days I can't get the kids to leave!
