Put Sleep to Good Use

Have I got something fun to share. My tip for today is how to use baby's nap to your advantage. Well, we all know how to do that I suppose, but I mean photographically speaking. As your baby is waking up from a nap, go in (WITH your camera) and be prepared to photograph the waking up process. Usually when babys wake from a nap they are rested and happy. Keyword happy. There is nothing more dreamy than your baby gazing at you as they wake, eyes focusing to the delight of Mommy, right there waiting for them to rise. It makes my heart ache just remembering those days.

I've put together a sequence of three photos to give you an example of using this twilight time to your advantage. My daughter was napping in my bed so it was easy to lay down next to her and get these images. It wouldn't have been as easy if she were in her crib. Plus, the lighting was lovely. I opened the blinds as she was stirring as to get the most light possible for these shots. Something I always do.

Pretty cute pictures, don'tcha think?  But more than that you're saying to yourself, "HEY! How'd she do THAT?" meaning what is that cool collage thing-a-ma-jig, right? OH BABY! It's a photo sharing website that ROCKS! Tabblo lets you do all this amazing stuff using your photos AND words or stories. Oh, the possibilities. Yowza. Yet another thing that will be distracting me from the things that I am supposed to be doing. Curses. Go check it out because it's really cool. This was my very first attempt at it and I found it super easy. I'd like to see what other options there are (and you know I will) but for now, I will say making this puppy took me all of 15 minutes (not bad for my first time) and posting it to my blog was as easy as getting the HTML code (which is something you're prompted to do if you so choose) and pasting it in here at my Typepad blog. It's THAT easy. You know I don't lie to you. If you try it, please share your results with the rest of us. I want to be sure to add you to my "circle" over there. I have no one in it yet. I honestly did just start today. If you are already doin' stuff over there, let us know too. And send feedback. I love feedback.

Didn't I say I was going to talk about ISO?? Well, I am, but I'd rather go play at Tabblo right now. And anyway, I'll bet you haven't even found your manuals yet, have you? I didn't think so. Anyway, you're all too busy entering the Sleeping Like a Baby Contest.

This is sooooo cool, I will have to try it out sometime.

I love that you can integrate it with Flickr. I'll have to play with this more.

After reading your post I started working with Tabblo. It's very interesting. But I can't figure out how to add people to my circle. I'm also having trouble with Flickr integration as it's only importing certain photos and not others although the issue doesn't appear to be permissions-based.

I'm going to keep working in it and figure these things out. What a neat site! Thanks for spreading the word.

Very neat...Now I am going to play with Tabblo and see what I can come up with. :)

What a beautiful collage. I definitely am going to stalk my little one when she's due to get up from her nap. ;-)

And I'm off to play with Tabblo...

This is too cool! You inspired me to create something. How do I add you to my circle or get added to your circle? I can't figure that part out. I'm anndouglas over there is you can search for me or something.

BEAUTIFUL!!!! GORGEOUS!!!!!!
