Jack who? Jack O' Lantern of course. It's been a tradition in our family to each have our own pumpkin to carve. Well, the kids are still too young to really carve but they are allowed to decide their Jack O'Lantern's mood and then their father and I help them excecute it. And of course, we always have taken photos when it's all said and done.
I've had so much fun using our carved pumpkins as props that I even use one of the photos for a Christmas card one year. My husband wasn't thrilled (he's a little more traditional than I am) but to this day people remember that card and STILL have it tucked away in their "keep-able card" file. I like to remind my husband of that when he gives me grief about our annual cards and my zany photo choices. Zany in his eyes, creatively brilliant in mine. Thankfully, he's finally let me have free reign in that area (pretty much) considering I do ALL the work (hello). But hold on, we're not to the holiday cards as a topic yet. We're still talking Halloween. Sheesh, I got ahead of myself.
Anyway, this harvest season, I urge you to pay your photo respects to Mr. O' Lantern and snap a few pix. I mean, come on, how can you resist this?
This was, in fact, taken the morning after Halloween last year, hence the gnarly bedhead.
