I am always excited to see what new and different book projects Chronicle Books releases. They are my publisher which makes their collection even more interesting to me. Don't you just love that I take the liberties of calling them mine? Anyway, a few months ago they released a book called Seeing Beyond Sight. It was featured in their New Releases Newsletter (which is definitely worth signing up to get). The title alone had me as you could have guessed. As it turns out, the book itself is far more interesting than I could've ever imagined. The bi line to the title is "photographs by blind teenagers". Wow. How cool is THAT? Now, I don't officially have the book...YET. But, I didn't want to wait until my next trip to the bookstore to turn you all onto it. Wanna get it too and we can talk about it?
For more info on the workings behind the book check this out. And for event info that promotes the book, go over the calendar which is chock full of stuff going on in The Bay Area for those of you in No Cal. I get to attend an event here that I am thrilled about! I don't know about you but I am excited to get my hands on the book and look at the work that is included (there's a sneak peek into it's pages on the site) and I was thinking that perhaps sometime in early May we can all join in and take the challenge together. I would love to get your feedback on that idea and get a dialog started about it.
What do you say? Who's up for a challenge?

I am *so* getting that book. And I might be up for the challenge, too...

Wow, what a great concept. I will try to get the book, and I think I'm up for the challenge. Thanks for featuring this ;-)

I think the Challenge sounds like a really unique idea! I'm game.
Would be neat to see what everyone took away from the exercise and what photos they shot.

Wow, I have to read more about this. Thanks for the links and I'm going to check out the book and challenge. (Gotta complete my current challenge first)
