More to Share

So, it appears that this weeks theme is announcements. Hey, I love sharing this stuff with you all, that's no lie, but when it begins to feel more like a contest/carnival round up than a photo-ish blog, it gets a bit much. I do vow that next week I will get back to what the main point of this here blog is...photography!

I guess this must be the season for contests (I'm not the only one who's talking about them) and Blog Blasts and all the rest of that good stuff. Never heard of a Blog Blast? Well, consider yourself now in the know. The first ever Blog Blast will be taking place THIS Friday. Where? On your blog hopefully. Meaning, you are going to help make this blast all that it can be. Technically, it's being hosted by a soon to be launched, brand new new mom's site called Light Iris (you know I am so loving that name) and The Parent Blogger Network. As Kristen from PBN put it, "it's like a Blog Carnival without the scary clowns." Anyway, for this first blast, they have posed a question to all of us to write about-- What Makes You a Mother? What a question! I,for one am totally going to answer that here on Friday and I will hopefully be able to have a photo or two to go with the post. That's just how I roll.

What about you? Does that question get your mommy wheels turning? Just post something on your blog in regards to the theme THIS Friday and then email PBN with your link (parentbloggers at gmail dot com) so they can add it to the Blast Round Up. There will be a random mom chosen that will be awarded a prize too, which is cool.

OK, get thinking...What Makes You a Mom? I can't wait to hear what you've got to say.

Side note-- As of this minute, I am almost caught on up sharing the photo contests with you although I have a few more up my sleeve. I do promise that I have a week full of photo posts planned for next week--more cheering--that I am very excited about. I will be discussing the glory of "the diagonal" and how diagonal lines in photos can make for very interesting images. It seems to be a common element in a great many of my images (can you detect them?) and I get so many comments about it that I wanted to ruminate a bit on the subject. I mentioned it way back in the archives once but it's so time to revisit it. I'll be asking for your input and links too so get ready for that. If you get my diagonal drift already and care to share one in Monday's Best Shot, that'd be cool. You don't have to, it's just a thought. Oh, I am full of them, aren't I?
