Happy Best Shot Monday everyone. I hope you all had a lovely Mother's Day. As I mentioned a few days back, I have declared this week, Diagonal Week here at Picture This where I will devote all the posts to this one particular compositional element. And with that, I offer you the first of the series.
Behold, The Extreme Diagonal Portrait in all it's glory.
As the week progresses I will be giving examples of other (less obvious) diagonal elements but for today, I thought I'd just offer one of the more obvious flick of the wrist portrait techniques. Makes for a quirky shot, don't ya think?
This is not a prerequisite for your BSM post...if you've got one with a tilt to share, go for it but anything goes on Mondays so post a link to whatever you got. There will be lots of chances to show of your diagonals this week, don't you worry! Stay tuned.

Gorgeous show of vibrant color...and diagnol. Love it! I forgot about diagonal, but this has a hint...sort of...maybe

My BSM is more of a tilted person rather than a tilted photo which makes it look a little weird, but fun nonetheless!

I love the color in your shots--all of them, but this is perfect!
I've got a diagonal coming up, too!

Ooh, I'm going to have to reach outside my comfort zone with diagonals. :) Love your BSM. The colors are great.

I apologize, but I'm not really a fan of the tilt (it makes me dizzy). When I do get this kind of photos, it is purely by accident -- either I tripped or accidentally clicked as I try to bring out my camera from its bag.
Then friends and relatives would say, "Great shot." I'll nod my head, smile and pretend everything was intentional. :)

I shoot on a diagonal all the time, maybe even too much...but my BSM today has no tilt at all. I love your cutie patootie shot. The colors and her smile are adorable!

Here are my shots. I did take some interesting diagonal shots this weekend, too, but they'll have to wait. These shots may not be technically great, but they tell a fun story!
Tracy, I love the pink and green and that smile!

My shot for today is kinda a diagonal...not quite as extreme as yours, though.

I love diagonals, I'll post some this week! And I also love the color in that shot, Tracey.
This week, Henry smiles, and gets into the kitchen cabinets. Wouldn't you love to know what is running through his mind?

I think the diagonal is my favorite alternative to the straight-and-centered. I just happened to use it a lot this weekend too!
