I'm Feeling This Theme

Since my girls have both been in school full time (have I stressed the magnitude of those 2 little words--full time?) I have felt nothing but the overwhelming and glorious feeling of FREEDOM. Perhaps some may call that callous or cruel as maybe I'm supposed to be lamenting at how I miss them being home. Well ladies, not this mom. I haven't had this much time at my disposal in TEN years. TEN. I am thankful for every minute I have to myself.

My take on today's THEME was shot in my car, while I was just about to leave the coffee shop to pick up my daughter from school. I caught a glimpse of myself in the reflection of my laptop and I liked what I saw.

Me as a free woman.

And you?

What a FUN picture, I like what you saw, too! Yeah for Mommy freedom! I have a ways to go, but that's okay also.
I guess mine takes a more serious interpretation. It's been on my mind.

PS Funny how you mentioned Talk Like a Pirate Day - so did we...

I can't wait for the day when they are both in school! My thoughts of freedom are of how hard my husband works to protect our freedom. Here is a photo that I took of his submarine returning from deployment a few years ago. It's a big deal when a boat comes home. Notice it even has a lei on it! http://www.flickr.com/photos/divrchk/291896191/in/pool-ttpt/

What a great shot, and I don't blame you one bit for savoring that freedom! It's hard earned!

I'm childless, not by choice, and seeing your picture makes me realize that, in some ways, I take advantage of my "freedom". It's a great shot. Here's mine:

I think I'll be like that one day when my lil guy goes off to school! So glad you're enjoying the freedom!

I would love to have some of that FREEDOM!

I love it, Tracey.

Wonderful photo!

Having my son gone full-time and just my daughter at home there is that added sense of FREEDOM in our house!

oh, tracy. i lovelovelove this shot. so good and SO RESTFUL! i try to capture these little pieces of freedom a lot because that time makes up so much of who i am. that creative, dreamy, oh and work-filled time!

anyway, here's my shot. my freedoms come in small chunks these days, but i take them with vigor as they come.

Such a lovely, wistful portrait of you, Tracey. Ours is a little different (and is not meant to be controversial, it is just OUR choice). And by the way, I love and appreciate all of the posts about America's freedoms, and really do appreciate what we have and those who attain and protect it for us.

It'll be awhile before I know that kind of freedom, Tracey! :)

Sorry I'm kinda late to the party today, folks. fyi, I have upgraded to a FlickrPro account so I have numerous pics up now. Check them out! I've kinda been going crazy this week; a creative outlet for me in my (few) free hours this week.
